Cork was the destination for our very first Group Trip, waaay back in October 2013, so we’re delighted to finally be heading back! This 4* Hotel is just outside the city centre, so we’ve arranged for a mini-bus to bring you into the city centre on Saturday morning, in plenty of time for the St. Patrick’s Day Parade.
Arrive at your leisure on Friday March 16th 2018 to this lush 4*hotel, and settle in for a fantastic weekend. The spacious rooms are decorated in modern light colours and many have views of the River Lee but all have flat screen TV’s, complimentary WiFi & a 24 hour room service menu.
You’ll meet the rest of the group at dinner Friday evening, but before then there’s plenty to keep everyone busy. The Leisure Centre is a short walk from the hotel and free for residents, with a 25m pool, squash courts, tennis courts and even a beauty salon if mom or dad want to spoil themselves.
The hotel itself has a fantastic multi-play outdoor playground located in the garden beside the Watermarq restaurant. This is a great area for families and children to relax and enjoy their break. The secure playground is contemporary and has something for all children to enjoy, with plenty of room to run around in the fresh air, or relax in the tranquil gardens.
Your evening meal is booked for 6pm in the hotel restaurant, where families can enjoy a range of delicious “young diners” menus that have been created using only the best of local and seasonal produce. As part of the kids size me initiative they also offer a choice of adult meals in child size portions.
On Saturday morning a mini-bus will bring you all from the hotel directly into the city centre, so you’re in the heart of the St.Patrick’s Day celebrations as they get underway and the city really comes to life! Sample tasty treats at the pop up festival market, listen to some traditional Irish music at the Lee Sessions, take a tour, see an exhibition or go to a show. There is plenty to choose from this festival weekend in Cork!
You have the option of staying in the city all afternoon or heading back to the comfort of the hotel, so for this reason a return journey has not been booked or included, but contact details of local taxi firms and details of the public transport available on the day will be made available to you.
So on Saturday evening, continue to celebrate St. Patrick’s Day with the locals in Cork City Centre, or enjoy the comfort and atmosphere of your hotel and choose to dine in the restaurant again, or choose the more casual bar food menu, the choice is yours.
On Sunday, it’s time to check-out, but not before you enjoy another hearty breakfast! You’re also still welcome to enjoy the playground and leisure centre, maybe treat yourselves to a delicious Carvery Lunch while the kids play directly outside the restaurant before it’s time to head home.
