Galway, July 2014

Our FOURTH One Parent Holidays Group Trip was fantastic fun. We arranged a trip to Galway in July, and we might have picked the perfect hotel with the best Kids Club in Ireland.

We booked the 4* Connacht Hotel & Leisure Centre, just outside Galway City, for three nights. Parents had the option for arriving on either Tuesday 22nd or Wednesday 23rd, for a two or three night stay, with inclusive meals, activities, Kids Club and evening entertainment.

Arriving at their leisure on their chosen day they met Rose at reception for the welcome pack. The Welcome Pack included information on local amenities, schedule of Kids Club, inclusive activities, a list of exclusive local concessions, and a detailed itinerary. They made the most of the Leisure Centre and Kids Club on-site, which has loads of options for children to meet new friends and have some fun at various times throughout day. 4a647b939b394

On Tuesday evening we had a Group Dinner in the Hotel Restaurant, timed to coincide with the Kids Club so the adults get some free time to socialise with each other and get to know everyone. On Wednesday evening we enjoyed a more casual meal together of soup and sandwiches in a reserved area of the bar. We had a little activity area which slowly became very popular, especially the bouncy balls! The Kids Club had an evening session that is included in the rate, so they can headed in there for supervised activities and entertainment as often as they wanted, which was very often!IMG_2065

On Thursday evening we had another Group Dinner, this time some parents and kids sat earlier than others, and we got to experience the new Italian Restaurant on-site. It was a lovely evening for everyone, and because they plan their break to do whatever suited their family best, they got to explore Galway at their leisure while still looking forward to supervised scheduled activities in the comfort of the hotel.

Scheduled Activities for Friendly Fellows Kids Club
The Kids Club schedule offers two daily supervised activity periods, including the following:

They run from 9.30am – 1pm and then again in the evening from 6pm – 10.30pm, daily.
The club caters for children aged from 3 – 15 years and is fully supervised. They run activities for each age group including face painting, arts & crafts, story time for the younger ones, to Air Hockey and PlayStation for the older children. There is usually a fee per child per session, but we have access to all sessions included in the package rate for One Parent Holidays Guests.

Babysitters can always be arranged with prior notice at an additional charge, so the evenings are totally tailored to your needs. With Galway City just minutes away, there’s plenty to keep everyone occupied.

The hotel room was available to you until noon on the day of departure, so our families had a final dip in the pool and joined the last Kids Club of their holidays before packing up to leave. Everyone swapped contact information, and promised keep in touch until next time before hugs and kisses and goodbyes all around. I wouldn’t be surprised if a few of them have already met up for a coffee!
