Glamping in Cork, June 25th

Another exclusive for One Parent Holidays!! This is another Glamping trip, this time to the south coast in Cork, and another site where we have exclusive use of the entire property. We can accommodate 5/6 families, in 5 units, with one larger one for a large family or has plenty of rooms if two smaller families would like to share.

Arrive Monday June 25th to Inch, just 20 minutes from Fota Island, and this gorgeous hideaway is waiting to welcome you. The communal kitchen will inspire your senses from the stunning wooden wavy ceiling to the colourful bottle and glass installations.

The Banquet Hall is built with surround windows so it will feel like you’re dining in the outdoors: it is equipped with a gas stove and oven and there’s plenty of kitchen ware, pots and pans, a fridge, wash up facilities, coffee machine, kettles and if there is anything you think is missing just ask and they can add it to the wish list. Here is where you can refill your drinking water from their filtered well water system.

Outside, sheltered by a pergola, there is a Clay Wood Fired Pizza Oven and BBQs for cooking and dining outdoors. The Campfire will keep you warm in the evenings and is usually the communal meeting place for a chat, meeting people, star gazing, music sessions, story telling and any improvised fun!

The four yurts are the Woodland, Fairy Fort, Sunset and Mongolian Yurts, and are positioned on raised wood floors and all are well insulated and heated with wood fired stoves. They each have a private garden with enough space to put up an extra tent if you need it, and are all very close to the showers and toilet facilities and are all a stone’s throw from the Communal Kitchen, Banquet Hall, outdoor BBQs, Pizza Oven and camp fire area. There is also a central fire pit in the communal social space but plenty of privacy in your own garden if you just want hideaway in peace and quiet.

The Fairy Fort sleeps up to four, in a double bed and two singles, and has its own private garden, tucked away for added privacy.

The Woodland Yurt has a deck overlooking a small stream, perfect for dreamy nights with gurgling water to lull you to sleep. This yurt sleeps up to 6 in one double bed and two double futons.

The traditional Mongolian Yurt has hand-painted woodwork, and sleeps up to 6 in four single beds and one double futon.

The largest yurt is the Sunset, and two small families can share this if they so choose. 21ft in diameter this spacious Yurt sleeps up to 7, with two single beds, a single futon and two double futons, and is tucked into one of the garden banks that soaks up the very last rays of the sun each evening.

There is also the Wanderly Wagon, a new addition to the site with loft beds and a quirky design, sleeping up to four with one double and two single beds in lofts above the living area. We’ll have photos of the interior very soon, it’s brand-spanking new!

We have a few things planned to make sure you have some fun injected into your holiday, but also plenty of time to relax and just enjoy this beautiful gem, just 15 minutes walk to Inch Beach, and local activities such as surfing, kayaking, obstacle courses, and much more within easy access.

Arrive at your leisure on Monday June 25th and settle into your chosen home away from home for the next three nights. This evening is a chance to meet everyone and get to know each other, relax and enjoy the wonderful site while you wait for a catered BBQ. You’ll taste the most delicious meats and cuts from local producers garnished with 3 fresh salads, a variation from the onsite garden and local farmers and home made pickles and condiments.

On Tuesday it’s another free morning and afternoon to explore and enjoy the area. Walk down to Inch beach and bring a picnic for lunch, take a short spin to Fota Island for the afternoon, or just stay onsite and do nothing while the children play in complete safety on this private property.

One Tuesday evening we have a Pizza night planned, so it’s time to relax and sit back, and enjoy another catered evening meal. With the wood fired pizza clay oven you will experience an Italian traditional hand made pizza, guaranteeing top quality taste, fragrance and satisfaction for your family meal. They’ll be sharing tricks and tips on making the best pizza with home ingredients while you eat pizza as much as you can!

Then on Wednesday we have a special treat for you. A bus will collect the group and bring you to the local village of Ballycotton for a lovely day out. There will be time to explore the village a little, maybe collect some provisions for a snack, but at an agreed time we will meet on the docks for the fantastic tour of Ballycotton Island Lighthouse!

The tour begins at the Inn By The Harbour, where the local guide will greet you. The guide will accompany you on your journey to the Ballycotton lighthouse island in an open topped boat and escort you to the island summit and lighthouse whilst regaling you with historic tales as well as information on the flora and fauna of the area. All the time surrounded by stunning views and the fresh Ballycotton sea air.

The tour takes you across to Ballycotton Island Summit, where you can explore the lighthouse and enjoy the stunning views from the Ballycotton Lighthouse Lantern Balcony. The Ballycotton Lighthouse lantern was first lit in 1851 and 141 years later the last lighthouse keeper was taken off the island due to the automation of the light. Now, for the first time ever, you can step foot onto the wild, natural and unspoiled island, climb the original iron staircase and enjoy the same incredible views from the lantern balcony that up until now only resident lighthouse keepers could have enjoyed.

After this approximately 90 minute round trip tour, you have more free time before it’s time to meet for dinner. We have planned an early evening meal for you in a very popular local restaurant overlooking Ballycotton Bay, serving local, organic produce. Known for it’s fresh seafood, they also offer dishes such as steak, burger & chicken dishes, with a lovely vegetarian selection.

After your meal the bus will bring you all back to the comfort of your Glamping Accommodation for your last night, early enough to enjoy a relaxing evening by the campfire to end this wonderful Summer Holiday.
