Glamping in Meath, July & August 2017

Glamping in Meath, July & August 2017

We had such a fantastic time in Rock Farm last year, we just had to make a point of returning again in the Summer of 2017. As with last year it’s a 3 night stay, and you can choose to arrive either July 30th or August 20th 2017, but places are limited so don’t miss out!

Celebrate your Summer Holidays 2017 properly, and join us in this eco-friendly farm on the grounds of Slane Castle for three nights of pure bliss. With peaceful and plentiful surrounding countryside, and loads of activities to keep the kids occupied, this is a proper getaway break for everyone.

This is Luxury Camping at its best, right on the River Boyne and within view of Newgrange, Slane Castle and The Boyne Valley. You’re spoiled for choice of things to do for a day trip, with countless heritage sites, Tayto Park and Funtasia all just a short drive from your accommodation.

Onsite there are activities such as Tree Climbing, Electric Bike Tours, Kayaking and Rafting, with a large green area for fun and games, the very popular Tree Swing, and private river access.

We have put together a package to include 3 nights Luxury Camping in a Bell Tent, Shepard’s Hut or Mongolian Yurt all furnished to a hotel standard for your comfort. The units are spaced apart from each other enough so you have some privacy and space for the kids to run around outside, while still being close to the communal areas.

As there is just so much to do in and around the area, we have not included any group activities, and will instead provide you with all the info you need to make your own unique holiday experience. You might decide to spend your afternoons playing in the river, or head out to visit Tayto Park or Funtasia for the day, they’re just a short drive from the campsite.

Alternatively take an electric bike and explore the Boyne Valley, or float down the Boyne River on a few Kayaks to really chill out, your options are all wide open.

To make the holiday a little easier though, we have included your evening meals for the duration, some which you’ll prepare yourselves, and some served to you. On the first night of our stay we’ll celebrate with a proper BBQ, served with side salads, breads and a vegetarian option, there’s plenty to go around for everyone and we’ll end the night around the campfire having a chat.

You have full use of the communal kitchen to prepare meals for your family, so bring all your favourites for a hearty breakfast. All utensils, plates, bowls, cups and cutlery are supplied in this full-equipped kitchen, and depending on the weather you can either sit in the large dining room, head back to your accommodation, or spread out on the grass for a picnic breakfast.

The days are yours to do what you wish, with concessions for local and onsite amenities provided exclusively for One Parent Holidays Families. The second evening meal is a Pizza Night, with 12” Pizza Bases provided you can dress your pizzas and cook them yourselves in the outdoor Pizza Oven. This is an activity in itself, but made all the better because we’ll finish the day off around the campfire again.

On the last day of your trip, we’d suggest an onsite activity, although this is not included in your rate. For 2 hours, your children can choose from Kayaking, Rafting, Tree Climbing or Crafts sessions, which will be fully supervised by trained instructors. This gives the parents a little free time to soak up the beautiful countryside views, maybe have a Holistic Massage onsite, or take a short Electric Bike trip.

Tuesday evening is our last night of the trip, so we’ll have another BBQ. A wide selection of meats, breads, salads, vegetarian options and cooked by a professional chef, served to you around a roaring campfire, this is the perfect way to end a memorable Glamping Experience.
