Halloween in Mullingar, October 2016

We love a good Halloween party here at HQ, but especially one where we get to stay in a stunning hotel surrounded by woodlands, lakeside walks and a 20 acre park. This 4* Hotel & Leisure centre is just a few minutes from Mullingar, and we’re heading there for Halloween 2016.

Arrive Sunday October 30th for three nights, including a casual meal on the first night, and a restaurant dinner on one other evening. Kids Club twice daily, full access to surrounding grounds and parkland, and full use of the Leisure Centre facilities.

We’ll all eat together in the bar on Sunday, as people arrive at the leisure and meet the rest of the group while they settle in. We recommend arriving early to make the most of the Kids Club, which runs from 6-9pm each evening, or better still have a dip in the pool as soon as you get there.

Kids Club morning sessions run from 10am – 1pm, and again from 6pm-9pm and the timetable includes activities for everyone. There are Arts & Crafts, outdoor activities (weather permitting), nature trails, treasure hunts, bouncy castle, human board games, ordinary board games and play dough. In the evening they can enjoy movie time after games and activities in the Kids Club, so they’re nice and relaxed when you collect them at 9pm.

Your days can be spent in and around the hotel very easily, with so much space for the kids to roam and run around, but if you decide to head out for the afternoon, Mullingar is very close. This is especially significant if you have any One Direction fans in your family, who want to see where Niall Horan spends his time off πŸ™‚

Also nearby you can visit Belvedere House & Gardens, Rock ‘n’ Bowl, Jungle Joe’s Activity Centre and Lilliput Amenity Park, with activities for the older kids such as Laser Tag, Paintballing and Cycling Trails.

On Monday night the children can eat a little early, and then the Kids Club will celebrate Halloween with a Fancy Dress Kiddie Disco, with prizes for the most inventive and scariest costume! While the Kids enjoy the supervised activities the adults can enjoy a restaurant dinner together, finishing up just in time to collect the Kids at 9pm.

On Wednesday it’s our last night at the hotel, so we can have in the restaurant together or some might decide to emply a babysitter and head into town for the evening. We can of course do this earlier to accommodate the Kids Club hours, or the children can eat earlier again, while the adults eat during Kids Club again. It’s completely your choice, it’s your holiday!

So join us for some Halloween Fun in Mullingar, arriving Sunday October 30th for three nights, casual meal in the bar on Sunday night, one restaurant meal on Monday or Tuesday night, Kids Club twice daily, and full use of all onsite facilities and surrounding parkland, prices are as follows:

1 adult & 1 child – €350

1 adult & 2 children – €420

  1. I would be interested in going on this break but I’m not sure if my son would be able to enjoy the kids activities as he has Asperger syndrome and finds meeting new children and doing new things stressful.would this be an autism friendly place as i think getting out of Dublin for Halloween could be good for both of us.

    • Hi Laura, I have had families with children who have Asperger Syndrome, also Autism and other different abilities. I will find out the qualifications of the Kids Club staff for you anad email you when I have more info

    • Hi Laura, unfortunately the Kids Club at the hotel doesn’t provide any services to accommodate your son, but it is on acres of land with a woodland and lakeside, so there will be plenty of space to play, if that helps? Let me know what you think and if you’d like the booking details sent on.

    • Hi Laura. What age is your son. Both my kids r aspergers. One diagnosed and one about to have assessment for formal diagnosis. I have been on these trips before n we had no hassle. Yvonne
