Carlow, Feb. 2014

We had another great Group Trip! We stayed at the Talbot Hotel in Carlow for 2 nights and 3 days of relaxation and fun for adults and kids alike. The Kids Club catered for children of all ages and abilities at scheduled times throughout our stay, including Arts & Crafts, Pool Activities and Movie Nights, with an afternoon out to the local Big Blue Barn just for One Parent Holiday families.

Aisling and Rose met everyone on arrival with a Gift Bag for the children, which went down nicely and made for a great way to get the children interacting with each other. A casual meal in the bar the first evening gave us a chance to get to know each other, and over the next few days the children met regularly in the Kids Club, leaving the parents to get better acquainted. We had a lovely Group Dinner on the second evening, followed by some live music, and finally more Kids Club and Swimming Pool on the morning of departure.

We enjoyed the 4* luxury, some treated themselves to room service or hung out in the pool all afternoon, like on a proper holiday! Supervised activities for toddlers to teens was provided, both on site in the Talbot Hotel Kids Club and just down the road at the Big Blue Barn, so the parents took some time to go shopping, pop down to the gym, or just relax in the bar with a book, because the kids were taken care of!

Our rates were:

1 adult & 1 child – €189

1 adult & 2 children – €219

1 adult & 3 children – €249

Children of all ages welcome, children with Special Needs can also be catered for with prior notification.

  5. Hello,
It looks like a good break. I got the email with booking details and will be able to book next week. I have 3 boys 4, 6 and 11. Are there any older kids going do you know?

    • Hi Bronagh, we’re still waiting for parents to confirm so I couldn’t say for definite just yet that there are older kids coming. Having said that, the hotels Kids Club caters for children of all ages, so there will likely be older kids there, who are not with One Parent Holidays. I’m looking forward to meeting you! -Rose

      • Yes please add me to your mailing list. unfortunately i have plans for Easter – going to The Connaught Hotel in Galway which has excellent facilities for kids of all ages. Fantastic leisure centre, kids club and football pitch beside the Hotel. Not a 4 star Hotel but exceptionally clean and comfortable and keeps kids entertained more importantly. This might be of interest to some of your readers going forward. I look forward to receiving the newsletters.

  7. Hi to everybody! I’m
looking for a one parent nice family (female) with children for my holiday abroad: Ireland! ;-). I and my two children : Greta 6 years old and Federico 5 years old would like to live for a short period with an Irish mother and her children from approximately from 8th June to 20th July 2014.
During this period we all woud like to improve our english.
Is somebody who wants to share her flat/apartment/cottage (no matter)? A garden for children would be
fantastic and a plus. We need two rooms and a bathroom. I can cook for everybody! Or even an apartment in an area with children woud be ok.
I’m Cristina, a working professional in Italy, and live in Santarcangelo near Rimini on the Adriatic Cost. Feel free to ask any questions. Thank you for any information and suggestions.
