There’s a lovely little mid-term break in February, where every school gets a 4-day weekend, so we’re going to make the most of it and head to Killarney! Who’s coming?
Arriving on Friday February 19th, we’re staying two nights in this lovely Hotel & Leisure Centre just a few minute’s walk from Killarney Town Centre.
On Friday evening we’ll enjoy a casual meal in the hotel bar, of hot finger food and a selection of sandwiches. This gives everyone a chance to meet, the children can relax and we’ll have some small toys and books to keep them occupied. They’ll also have live music in the bar on both Friday and Saturday nights so our entertainment is taken care of too.
Make the most of your time here and visit all the local attractions, because this place is jammed with them. Check out Torc Waterfall, Muckross House, Lakes of Killarney, Killarney National Park, just to name a few.
With so much to do in and around this beautiful area, it’s very easy to make suggestions how to spend your time in the Kingdom County. Take a Jaunting Carriage Ride through Killarney Park, have a spin around the Ring of Kerry, or just wander into town and enjoy the locals. But on Saturday afternoon we have a group activity that really shows off the best of Killarney.
This spectacular county enjoys some amazing views of the surrounding countryside, but none are quite like that of the view you can enjoy while cruising the Killarney Lakes.
On Saturday afternoon we’ll walk through the beautiful 15th Century Ross’s Castle to board the spacious ‘Pride of the Lakes’ cruise boat. With a glass ceiling allowing for 360 degree views, and heritage attractions including O’Sullivan Cascade and the monastic ruins of Inishfallen Island.
Bring a picnic for the boat so you can make the most of the day out, no matter what the weather.
However you decide to spend your days, join us on Saturday evening for a meal in the restaurant. We’ll sit as a group and have a delicious slap-up meal together, after which we might decide to have a drink in the bar with more live music for our last night together.
