Lakeside in Killaloe, August 2017 – FULL!

Join us to stay in this stunning hotel on the banks of the majestic River Shannon, with stunning views of the twin heritage towns of Ballina in Co. Tipperary and Killaloe in Co. Clare, and their award-winning gardens providing the ideal backdrop to the tranquil beauty of Lough Derg.

Steeped in history, Killaloe was once the capital of Ireland and home to King Brian Boru our greatest Viking slayer. The town is now famed for its charming narrow streets and the 12th century St. Flannan’s Cathedral. A rare thirteen-arch bridge links the medieval charms of Killaloe with the lakeside walks in Ballina.

Arrive at your leisure on Sunday, August 6th, and stay for three nights bed & breakfast. I have included two evening meals in your package, so you may decide to wander into the town and sample one of their many restaurant and pub menus for your third evening.

The hotel rooms are designed to maximise the views of the lake, so you can relax, unwind and drink in the stunning scenery.

For the water-babies in your family, there is a fantastic 18m deck-level swimming pool in the Leisure Centre for a start.Or you might decide to indulge in the Jacuzzi, while the more active among you sample in the unique 40metre, figure of 8 water slide.

A Kids Club onsite will cater for the children daily, providing supervised activities, scheduled events and some free time for the parents to relax and indulge themselves.

Within walking distance of the town and all the quaint shops and cafes, you can explore the towns of Ballina and Killaloe at your leisure. There are two outdoor playgrounds just a short walk from the hotel, and countless walks and trails to follow along the river banks.

On one day during the holiday, we have arranged a trip on the wonderful Spirit of Killaloe Cruise Boat. On board there is a choice of two decks, the upper deck is ideally suited for taking the sun and enjoying the spectacular scenery.

The lower deck has spacious seating for up to 50 people, full bar facilities, tea, coffee and snacks refreshments on board. When on board a detailed commentary will be provided on all interesting sites as you cruise by.

Also available locally or a short distance from the hotel is horse riding, Fishing for Kids, Watersports, and easy access to the various points of interest along the Wild Atlantic Way. Head over the visit the Cliffs of Moher, the beaches of Lahinch, Bunratty Castle and The Burren for an afternoon or day out, with many more attractions to choose from.
