This is really a hidden gem of a city, with  pretty cobbled streets you’re immediately immersed in the boutiques and galleries that are in abundance. Head down to the banks of the mighty Douro river, and visit the brilliant Armazém a huge, new arts space in a converted warehouse in Ribeira do Porto.

Part of the movement to revitalize the old town, Armazém offers a rather impressive exhibition space, interesting boutiques and a bar with a great outdoor space luring you to sit and enjoy a drink in the sun.

There is plenty to see and do in this gorgeous old city, including investigating their love of Port, as this is the town that gave the city and country its name. Explore the cellars and storage, go on a tasting tour and fall in love with everything about this place.

Weather in Porto in November averages 12-16 degrees, so it’s not scorching hot but still much nicer than one ofour grand soft days in Ireland. There is a swimming pool onsite, although it may be a little chilly, and the hotel is located right next to the beach, and the best shopping and leisure areas, so you can easily find a few ways to spend your afternoons.

Your bedroom with either have a queen-size bed or two large twin beds, and you can upgrade to a pool-view room for a small supplement. There is also the option to add breakfast or half-board (breakfast and dinner) daily for a price, which is very reasonable considering what you might spend eating out daily.
