St. Patrick’s Day, Dundalk 2017 – FULL
We have planned a St. Patrick’s Day trip to Killarney already, but it’s a bit of a journey for a few of our families so we’re putting on another trip, and we decided on the beautiful county of Louth.
This lovely hotel is just 1km from Dundalk town centre, and plan to arrive on Thursday March 16th and stay for two nights or extend it to three to make the most of the festivities this town is famous for.
The hotel is surrounded by over 90 acres of beautiful parkland with fantastic views, while still being within easy reach of everything in the Carlingford & Mourne area, and all of the rooms offer panoramic views of the countryside.
We’ll meet for and evening meal in the restaurant on Thursday, with a Paddy’s Day Gift Bag for each of the children to get them in the festive spirit.
On Friday it’s time to get green and it’s just a short taxi journey or a pleasant walk into the town centre for the annual parade, and we suggest you prepare to spend the whole day out, as there is so much more than the traditional parade.
For the 2016 St. Patrick’s Day Parade in Dundalk, the town celebrated with some amazing entertainers, floats, music and dancing, but that was just the start of it.
The festivities began with a St. Patrick’s Eve Concert, followed by events throughout the week such as performances in the stunning An Tain Arts Centre, a Treasure hunt, Louth Tour Guides and an amazing Family Fun Zone in Market Square.
We’ll end an exciting day out with a delicious slap-up meal in the hotel restaurant, and maybe a drink in the bar to end the night in style. On Saturday the day is yours to explore the local area, with something for everyone all within easy reach.
If you decide to relax and enjoy the hotel, you can explore the surrounding parkland and let the kids run lose, or go for a dip in the pool, there’s plenty here to keep everyone occupied.
If you’ve decided to stay on for the third night Saturday’s evening meal is also included, and we’ll eat in the restaurant as a group enjoying new friendships after a lovely long weekend in this stunning location.
To arrive Thursday March 16th for two or three nights B&B, restaurant evening meals each evening, full Leisure Centre access, prices as follows:
2 nights:
1 adult & 1 child – €195
1 adult & 2 children – €235
