Terms & Conditions for Glamping on Cape Clear Island

We have a rule of ‘absolute silence after 11pm’ for which we take deposits from any adult groups. This is a camp site for families and for people to expect peace and quiet through the night.

Deposits. Cancellations will result in your deposit being forfeited, even if you want to change dates, unless we can fill your original booking. This is because it may be too late to fill the booking and others have been refused because the dates were reserved for you. Please note vouchers or discounted rates will also be forfeited if we can’t fill your original booking.

We do NOT allow ‘Stags’ ‘Hens’ or any drinking groups on the campsite, even if it is just a few people, so please make enquiries by phone before you come over to camp or you may be refused access to the camp site when you arrive on the pier.

As we are a family camp site, we have a strict ‘SILENCE and NO ALCOHOL after 11pm’ policy on the camp site and take €50 deposits per person in an adult group to enforce this. All deposits from that group will be kept if there is any noise and you will be asked to leave. Please note, if others can hear you talking at night, then you are being noisy!

Pre-recorded music is not allowed on the campsite, so please leave any device (radio, cd player, ipod) at home unless you have earphones! Musical instruments are allowed, played quietly please.

We know little accidents can happen and can’t be helped but if you have a child/are an adult who may wet the bed, please do let us know at the time of booking, so we can make the beds accordingly. If someone wets the bed and you don’t let us know immediately, we may have to charge you for a new mattress (€150). Your yurt may be let out the day you leave, and the next customer has to have a fresh bed.

Please don’t try to hide BREAKAGES, we will always find them when you leave! At least please let us know, some will be charged for, others not.

We have to RECYCLE everything on our island, so please be aware that we do not have ‘general rubbish bins’ so you will be expected to wash your food containers before recycling. If you leave dirty containers, we will have to charge you eur10 per bag, as we have to pay to dispose of rubbish.

Please wash and put away your clean dishes and dispose of all your recycling rubbish before departure or you will be charged €25 for housekeeping in the yurt.

The camp site does not have a fridge for campers and tipis, so please bring a coolbox with you, then if necessary, we can put your ice packs in our freezer, in our office. (the yurts have a cool box in them)

We provide bedding for four in our cosy, felt insulated 6m Mongolian yurts, so please bring a sleeping bag for any more guests, the yurt sleeps a maximum of 6 people. You will also need to bring your towels and a torch. The yurt has a wood burning stove with one complimentary basket of wood (further baskets €5), a gas cooker with rings, grill and all the cooking equipment you’ll need to feed your family! A double bed and two single bed mattresses (or double sofa bed) with bedding, a family sized cool box with ice packs (replenished daily), rugs, snuggle blankets, bean bags, toys, games and books. An outdoor picnic bench and stunning views looking out to the Atlantic ocean across south harbour!

Our bell tents have a built in groundsheet, slim camping mats, rugs, snuggle blankets and cushions. You will need to bring your own bedding.

We hire BBQs, camping stoves, and fire drums. No open fires are allowed on the campsite or island I’m afraid.
