We have a prize with a difference today, to do something One Parent Holidays hasn’t yet done but it’s definitely on the cards for 2016, Glamping! We have a voucher for one night in a Teepee Tent which sleeps up to four people to give away, and it could be yours.

This campsite is right on the banks of the River Shannon, in the vibrant town of Carrick on Shannon, and it’s jam-packed with activities to keep everyone busy no matter what the weather. Your Teepee will be ready when you arrive, and set up with some home comforts while still giving you a fantastic camping experience.

You’re just a few minutes from Carrick on Shannon, but there are loads of activities onsite at Carrick Bike & Boat Hire, one of which we were really hoping to do this year so we’re pretty excited for one of our families to experience it, the Dragon Boat ride!

This is dependent on numbers, because obviously it’ll take more than just four people to paddle this big beauty, but with any luck there will be enough campers up for a Dragon Boat ride during your stay and you all get out on the river.DSC_1050-1

In the unlikely event that there are not enough people for the Dragon Boat, the campsite owners, Claire & Jim, will make sure you still get a boat ride. They have a great little motor boat and will take you down the river for a spot of sight-seeing during your stay, so you get to see the River Shannon in all its glory.

Other activities available onsite include Stand Up Paddle Boarding (SUP) and Bike Hire for tours and treasure hunts, both of which are suitable for most ages and abilities and are a fantastic way to spend your time in Carrick.
