We visited this fantastic location over Easter of 2015 and I have been meaning to plan a return trip for a while, so here it finally is! On the last trip we stayed in the hotel, had just glorious weather and it really did feel like a holiday abroad, because this beach location is just fantastic.
This time, we’re arriving to their luxury self-catering properties onsite, on the afternoon of Easter Sunday, April 16th for a 3 night break.
Choose from a 2-bed apartment, 3-bed holiday house, or share with another family in a spacious 4-bed house, and small dogs are welcome here!
Arrive at your leisure after the Easter Egg hunting on Sunday morning, and relax into your self-catering home for the next 3 days. Just metres from the beach, you might decide to have a walk down the strand to blow away the cobwebs, or if it’s too chilly head into the Leisure Centre for a dip in the pool.
The onsite Kids Club is also inside the Leisure Centre building, with indoor and outdoor organised activities for children aged 4yrs and up, including arts & crafts, tag rugby, soccer, hockey, mini Olympics and lots of great beach activities right outside the door on Redbarn’s Blue Flag Beach. This runs from 11am to 3pm and is €10 per session, but the hotel will give all One Parent Holidays families a discount during their stay, just ask!
The Kids Club have special activities for Bank Holiday Weekends, including movie club every night with NEW 3D Movie Shows – and of course our kiddies favourite disco night too! Movie Nights are €3.50 per child per session, and include drinks and popcorn with a supervised age-appropriate movie in the Cinema Club. Again, the hotel will offer one Parent Holidays Families a discount on this rate.
Regular Kids Camp is open daily from 11am to 3pm, the Dolphin Club opens 6pm to 9pm, with supervised activities for children aged 4yrs and over. This also includes the 7.30pm movie with crisps & drink, or the children can just go straight to the movie at 7.30pm for 4yrs+, or the later movie for children aged 12yrs+
We’ll start the formal meet & greet over dinner in the hotel restaurant, where we have a group table booked for 6pm. This allows the children to head to the Hotel Cinema at 7.30pm so the adults can relax and get acquainted.
As this is a self-catering break, but group meals are very helpful in gathering the group, I have included dinner on the first and last evenings of your stay. So on Sunday and Tuesday evening at 6pm you can enjoy a group dinner together, but the rest is free time to spend how you wish.
The hotel offers it’s residents special discounts for Fota Wildlife Park, Perks Family Entertainment, Leahys Open Farm and the Titanic Experience in Cobh, to name just a few ideas for an afternoon out. With Cork city just a short drive from the hotel, you can plan a whole day exploring the area or just stay put in the hotel and relax on the decking overlooking the sea.
So join us this Easter, and if you have a little pooch he or she are also welcome! (dogs only permitted in holiday homes for a €50 fee) Include 3 nights self-catering in accommodation of your choice, two evening meals in hotel restaurant on Easter Sunday and again on Tuesday, full access to the Hotel Leisure Centre, outdoor playground, sport facilities, discounts for onsite Kids Club and Movie Club and discounts for local attractions from reception, prices as follows:
